Why Them?

These people are looking for a fresh start. Whether they are embarking on a new career or heading on a healthier, more positive path, they sit at a crossroads where the prospects can be thrilling and terrifying at the same time.

Our Solution

There are many outside variables that might contribute to the success or failure of starting a business, finding a great job in your chosen career, or reentering your community. The best defense against an avalanche of outside unknowns is a solid internal foundation of mental tranquility and self-assurance.

Just a Few of the Workshops We Offer

The Gift of the Present

Making Our Work & Home Life Sooo Much Less Stressful

What do all these have in common: guilt, worry, grudges, resentment, old anger, regret, and wild expectations? They all live in the past or the future. When we learn to focus on what’s in front of us, right now, they all move aside. Good riddance.

Why this matters

Individuals in transition typically spend endless hours either mentally revisiting their negative past or ignoring it. They continually punish themselves for how they have treated others and themselves, or are seemingly unaware of it. Or maybe they worry constantly about the future. These can all be roadblocks to moving forward. Learning to stay in the present moment gently acknowledges the past and future while shifting the focus to the beauties of life right in front of us, right now, strengthening our resolve and outlook.

Solution takeaways

Simple exercises that can be immediately implemented start participants on a road to mental tranquility and clarity. They learn how to move beyond bad habits and toward their goals. As a bonus, they also discover life’s simple joys that they may have been overlooking for years.

Are YOU Positive? Are Ya Positive?

It’s not what you think. It’s how you think.

“Who here is a negative person? Nobody ever raises their hand. But we can’t feel anxious, angry, overwhelmed, frustrated or exhausted without first having a negative thought. And how often do we feel anxious, angry, overwhelmed, frustrated, or exhausted? Negative thinking is a learned bad habit. The good news? It can be unlearned.

Why this matters

Small business owners often have no idea how they are perceived by customers, employees, or business partners and are left scratching their heads when the business fails. People going through recovery, changing industries, or entering the job market after a long absence frequently don’t realize when they are bringing a defeatist attitude and self-doubt with them to interviews, networking events, etc.

Solution takeaways

This lesson helps participants connect with how they think, react, and interact on a regular basis. From there, they learn to shift their thoughts and actions of anger, fear, and self-doubt to ones of calm, competence, and resilience that will give them the resolve to get that job, make those career changes, and meet their goals.

What If?? Thinking

From endless stress and a huge pain in the (insert body part of choice) to endless possibilities and potential

How many doom-and-gloom “what if?” scenarios do we play over and over in our heads that never happen? Well, what if we replaced those draining thoughts with empowering ones?

Why this matters

Parents returning to the workforce, people with anxiety and depression, solopreneurs tend to spend a lot of time in their own heads: mulling over possibilities, weighing options, constructing and reconstructing every possible scenario from every angle. And oftentimes, unfortunately, they constantly zero in on potential obstacles and their own deficiencies. One seemingly innocent thought sparks a cascade of grim, fearful ones. “What if I don’t get the job and then what if I can’t support myself or my family and what if we lose the house and what if we have to move back in with my parents and what if they lecture me about what a loser I am and how I always make bad decisions…?”

Solution takeaways

This lesson is not designed to distract participants from the harsh realities of life but rather to help them see how many of these thoughts are just that: thoughts. Not necessarily truths or reality, but fearful thoughts run amok. The solution? Switching the negative “what ifs?” to more positive ones. “What if they love me at the interview and I get called back for another one?” “What if I get the job and I can start supporting myself?” “What if I acknowledge every single accomplishment?” “What if I take time to really listen to my staff and customers and get amazing feedback that really helps my business?”
